Here at Guararapes, we prioritize ethics, transparency, and sustainability. To disclose the actions taken last year to the market, we are making available our 2022 ESG Report on our strategic sustainability actions, in line with the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) international standards.
Even in a year marked by global instability, with rising inflation and interest rates in the United States and Europe and the war between Russia and Ukraine, we expanded our share in the market of MDF and plywood panels, so now it represents 60% of our revenue in the domestic market.
We were also able to cut down on water consumption at our three manufacturing plants, and the new MDF production plant in Caçador, Santa Catarina, which has certified sustainable technologies, is going to help the company keep its outstanding performance in this aspect.
We were also a steady presence in the communities surrounding our plants. Our projects included a renovation of the pediatrics ward, laboratory, and reception hall of the Hospital Maicé hospital in Caçador (SC) and initiatives at the Lar dos Velhinhos Nossa Senhora das Graças retirement home in Palmas (PR), at Casa de Apoio in Santa Cecília (SC), and at the Hospital Pequeno Príncipe hospital in Curitiba (PR).
